The research group GEHUCT (Grup d’Estudis Humanístics sobre la Ciència i la Tecnologia) takes an interdisciplinary approach to the analysis of science and its applications. Such an approach is required for two reasons: first, to cope adequately with the complexity of the topic; secondly, in order to overcome a fragmentation of knowledge that often results from overspecialization.

Our current research topic concerns the philosophy of public health. Public health generates different philosophical questions that approached from an interdisciplinary perspective, gathering, seminars and debates, epidemiologists, health policy experts, and philosophers of science, ethics and politics. Our next challenge is to organize an international congress bringing together leading experts on the issues of the philosophy of public health to study and discuss the complexity of the issue.
